Reform, Conservative & Everything in Between
taught by Rabbi Eliana Jacobowitz
Sundays November 6, 13 and 20; December 4, 11 and 18. 9:45 –11:15 a.m.
A six-week course on denominations of Judaism, covering how the Reform, Conservative, Modern Orthodox, Reconstructionist, Humanistic, and Renewal denominations came into being. We will read some of the key texts of the main movements and get to “know” the rabbis who shaped the various movements’ theologies. We will explore how the movements differ in observance and Jewish practice, and finally we will explore the meaning of trans- and post-denominational Judaism that some say is the future of pluralist Judaism.
