Transgender Remembrance Shabbat each November
Every year at our November Shabbat potluck, we commemorate TDOR- the Transgender Day of Remembrance. This is one of the ways by which we assert our commitment to a Judaism that seeks social justice, equality, and a safe America for all minorities. The Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual observance that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Additionally, during this week individuals and organizations around the country participate in Transgender Awareness Week to help raise the visibility of transgender and gender non-conforming people and address the issues these communities face.
